CEDIA Awards 2012 Best Home Cinema
Kay Pilsbury Thomas Architects, Radwinter, were finalists in the CEDIA AWARDS 2012 Best Home Cinema category for our luxurious basement cinema and games room design near Chelmsford.
Our client lives in a Grade II Listed late 18th century house, with parts dating back to the 15th century. Having a young family, they wished to incorporate a games room and home cinema into their home for the entertainment of family and friends.
We designed a 130m² basement, and, in co-ordination with a specialist AV audio company, developed a stereo acoustic lining for this space, to provide a home entertainment area. Leather seating in the cinema, fabulous lighting and a great amount of detailing in both the cinema and games room areas, are just a few of the many great details designed into this project by KPT.
The cinema is a relaxing room, with ambient lighting and comfortable leather seats making it perfect for watching movies, tv or listening to music.
The games room, on the other hand, delivers a much more energetic space with multiple games tables, and a large screen for the viewing of sports, movies or tv.
With the ability for these rooms to be enjoyed individually or as a combined viewing space, this basement design has provided our client with the family and friends entertainment area they desired.
