RICS 2012 National Grand Finalist Awards - Building Conservation
Kay Pilsbury Thomas Architects, Radwinter, were finalists in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors National Grand Finalist Building Conservation Awards. Impressing the judges with the attention to detail of the design and the building works carried out during our conservation of Spains Hall, Finchingfield, for Sir Tim and Lady Rosemary Ruggles-Brise and The Spains Hall Partnership.
Spains Hall, near Finchingfield, is a beautiful Grade I Listed Tudor House. Set in attractive park land, it has been home to the Ruggles-Brise family for more than 250 years.
Kay Pilsbury Thomas Architects and a team of specialists revealed the incredible history of this fascinating house. The secret door, the Tudor well in the floor and the restored flamboyant Victorian wallpapers are just some of the interesting features which abound as you walk around; allowing each room to tell its own unique story of the building’s history.
This project has allowed Spains Hall to be opened to the public for the first time as a stunning setting for weddings and other events.
