Sibyl Thomas


Managing Director – Architect Accredited in Building Conservation AABC, RIBA Conservation Accredited Architect

Sibyl is the owner and Managing Director of the practice, having taken over from her mother Kay some 7 years ago.

 

Sibyl is a Chartered Member of the RIBA, is ARB registered (Architects’ Registration Board) and an Architect Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC) and also a RIBA Accredited Conservation Architect.

 

She is graduate of The Royal College of Art and holds an MA in Architecture, as well as the Certificate in Professional Practice in Architecture from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. Furthermore, she has a Post Graduate Diploma in The Conservation of Historic Buildings from the Architectural Association, London.

 

She is an Approved Church Architect for the Diocese of Chelmsford, St Albans and St Edmundsbury, looking after many of the ancient churches throughout East Anglia and London. She is a member of The Ecclesiastical Architects & Surveyors Association.

 

She is listed on The Green Register for her knowledge of eco / green and sustainable architecture.

 

Sibyl has over 15 years’ experience working with and adapting/extending historic buildings. She enjoys working closely with Owners, Historic England, Heritage Lottery and many Conservation Officers on a vast assortment of building periods and types.

 

Sibyl is Kay’s daughter, which meant, from as early as she can remember, she was holding the end of a tape-measure helping to survey the timber-frames of dusty old barns. So, the love and joy for historic buildings and their design was inevitable!
